Is yoga for me?
- Yes, absolutely. Yoga is for everyone. Yoga is a combined experience of breath, postures, and meditation. Mobility increases the more you practice and instruction will meet you at your skill level. With that being said, vinyasa or yoga for weight loss is not for beginners, stretch and flow classes are great starter classes! Knowing your limits but pushing yourself to explore outside of your comfort zone is key to a successful yoga practice.
Which class should I attend?
- Yoga Stretch – Starting from scratch? Slow and steady wins the race. In this class, we will take our time moving into and holding postures. Relaxing your body, coordinated breathing, and accepting the place you’re in is key to yoga stretch. This class has few postures in its 60 minutes. Also great for blowing off steam after a long day or stretch sore, tired muscles.
- Flow – Yoga flow is a great class to be introduced or reintroduced to yoga. Not as slow and steady as stretch, flow moves seamlessly from one posture to the next. Flow starts with simple postures and moves into the more dynamic postures as the class progresses. This class has a moderate number of postures in 60 minutes.
- Vinyasa Yoga (Yoga for Weight Loss) – Vinyasa Yoga is an exercise experience designed to build heat in the body by gradually increasing the intensity of the postures, building up to more dynamic poses. This class is often paired with small space heaters to help warm our muscles as the class progresses. This class has the most postures in 60 minutes. Great for those who are looking for a more challenging experience or who want to leave class *glistening*.
